Won-Hyo Pattern Step-by-Step Instructions and Video

(Belt: Green Stripe; Movements: 28)

(Note that the direction you are facing when you start the pattern is considered North.)

Beginning Position: Close Ready Stance A

01.) Move left foot while right foot remains in place into a right L-stance to the west while executing a twin forearm block.


02.) Maintain right L-stance while executing a right arm inward knife hand strike with the palm up while the left fist is brought to right shoulder to guard.

03.) Move left foot while right foot remains in place into a right fixed stance to the west while executing a left arm punch while the right fist is brought to the hip palm side up.

04.) Move left foot to right foot and then move right foot into a left L-stance to the east while executing a twin forearm block.

05.) Maintain left L-stance while executing a left arm inward knife hand strike with the palm up while the right fist is brought to left shoulder to guard.

06.) Move right foot while left foot remains in place into a left fixed stance to the east while executing a right arm punch while the left fist is brought to the hip palm side up.

07.) Move right foot while left foot remains in place into a left vertical stance to the east and then move left foot into a right bending ready stance to the north while hands are brought into guard position.

08.) Execute a left leg side-piercing kick and a left arm punch to the north at the same time.

09.) Set down into a right L-stance to the north while executing a double knife-hand block.

10.) Move right foot while pivoting on left foot into a left L-stance to the north while executing a double knife hand block.

11.) Move left foot while pivoting on right foot into a right L-stance to the north while executing a double knife hand block.

12.) Move both hands in front of the shoulders palm side out while moving right foot and pivoting on left foot into a right walking stance to the north while executing a right arm spear-finger strike while left arm executes a block palm facing down under right elbow.

13.) Spin counterclockwise on right foot and move left foot into a right L-stance to the east while executing a twin forearm block.

14.) Maintain right L-stance while executing a right arm inward knife hand strike with the palm up while the left fist is brought to right shoulder to guard.

15.) Move left foot while right foot remains in place into a right fixed stance to the east while executing a left arm punch while the right fist is brought to the hip palm side up.

16.) Move left foot to right foot and then move right foot into a left L-stance to the west while executing a twin forearm block.

17.) Maintain left L-stance while executing a left arm inward knife hand strike with the palm up while the right fist is brought to left shoulder to guard.

18.) Move right foot while left foot remains in place into a left fixed stance to the west while executing a right arm punch while the left fist is brought to the hip palm side up.

19.) Move right foot while left foot remains in place into a close ready stance to the south while maintaining hand positions. Move left foot while pivoting on right foot into a left walking stance to the south while left fist is brought to right shoulder to guard and then to the hip palm side up while executing a right arm circle block.

20.) Maintain hand positions while executing a right leg front snap kick to the south.

21.) Set down into a right walking stance to the south while executing a left arm punch while the right fist is brought to the hip palm side up.

22.) Maintain right walking stance while right fist is brought to left shoulder to guard and then to the hip palm side up while executing a left arm circle block.

23.) Maintain hand positions while executing a left leg front snap kick to the south.

24.) Set down into a left walking stance to the south while executing a right arm punch while the left fist is brought to the hip palm side up.

25.) Move right foot into a left bending ready stance to the south while both hands are brought into guard.

26.) Execute a right leg side-piercing kick and a right arm punch at the same time to the south.

27.) Set down beside left foot and then spin counterclockwise on right foot and move left foot into a right L-stance to the west while executing a guarding block.

28.) Move left foot to right foot and move right foot into a left L-stance to the east while executing a guarding block.
