Close Ready Stance B: The feet are together with the knees slightly bent. The right fist is at solar plexus height but not touching it. The left hand is curved around the right fist without touching it while keeping the fingers together.

Close Ready Stance C: The feet are together with the knees slightly bent. The right knife hand is at belt height but not touching it. The left knife hand is on top of the right knife hand with both palms facing the belt. The tip of the left knife hand middle finger should be touching the nail of the right pinky finger.

Hand Techniques:

Upset Punch:  To execute a right-hand upset punch in a right walking stance to the north, begin in junbi position to the north. Start moving the right arm forward while rotating the right fist so that it is palm side up before contacting the target. While the right arm is moving the left fist should be rotating and moving to the south to end up beside the left hip with the palm side up at the same time that the strike is delivered. The right foot should be moving to the north and east while both arms are moving so that you end up in a right walking stance to the north at the time of the strike.

Circle Block:  To execute a right arm circle block in a right walking stance to the north, begin in junbi position to the north. Start moving the right arm down towards the floor with the right fist several inches away from and in front of your body with the palm facing you. The right fist should end up below and to the east of the opponent's attack. The right arm should then move to the west blocking the opponent's attack with the inner forearm. Once the block is made the right fist should begin moving upward and to the east in a circular motion by bending the elbow moving the opponent's attack up and to the east away from your body. The right fist should end up just outside the right shoulder completing the block. The right elbow should be bent 90 degrees with the right fist at shoulder height with the palm facing towards the shoulder. While the right arm is moving the left fist should be rotating and moving to the south to end up beside the left hip with the palm side up at the same time that the block is delivered. The right foot should be moving to the north and east while both arms are moving so that you end up in a right walking stance to the north at the time of the block.

Vertical Punch:  To execute a right-hand vertical punch in a right walking stance to the north, begin in junbi position to the north. Start moving the right arm forward while rotating the right fist so that the palm side is facing west before contacting the target. While the right arm is moving the left fist should be rotating and moving to the south to end up beside the left hip with the palm side up at the same time that the strike is delivered. The right foot should be moving to the north and east while both arms are moving so that you end up in a right walking stance to the north at the time of the strike.

Uppercut:  To execute a left arm uppercut in a right L-stance to the north, begin in junbi position to the north. Start moving the right foot to the north and east while bringing both arms into a guard so that you end up in a right walking stance to the north with both fists just below eye height. Bend the knees until the left fist is several inches below your opponent's chin. Drive upwards quickly by starting to straighten the knees. Just before contacting your opponent's chin move your left fist upwards striking the opponent in the chin. The left fist should not be extended above the top of your head and after striking the opponent the left fist should return back to just below eye level.

Foot Techniques:

Back Side Piercing Kick:  To execute a back side piercing kick with the rear leg from a right L-stance to the north while the hands are in guard do the following six steps in rapid succession. First, lift the right leg so that the thigh and sole are parallel to the floor while pivoting on the left foot clockwise. Second, turn the right hip over while pivoting on the left foot clockwise to the southeast so that the right thigh is parallel to the floor. The right knee will be pointed to the south and the right heel will be pointed to the north. Third, extend the right foot by straightening the knee with the toes angled back thus kicking your opponent with the heel. Fourth, retract the right foot by bending your knee so that the knee points south and the heel is pointed north. Fifth, turn the right hip up while pivoting on the left foot clockwise to the north so that the thigh and sole are parallel to the floor. Sixth, set your right foot back down into a right L-stance to the north.

Back Snap Kick:  To execute a back snap kick with the rear leg, begin in a right L-stance to the north with the hands in guard. Start moving the right rear leg by bending the knee and rotating the foot so that the toes are pointed to the north. Continue bending the right knee until the toes are pointed to the ground and the heel is pointed up striking the opponent to the south with the heel. Retract the right foot by straightening the knee and rotating the toes to the east setting it back down in a right L-stance to the north.
